CPR consists of rescue breathing, with or without a rescue mask, which works to provide oxygen to the lungs, chest compressions, which helps to keep the oxygenated blood flowing until breathing is restored, and the use of an AED. Including scene size-up to ensure the area is safe before performing CPR. The need for CPR can result from a heart attack, sudden cardiac arrest, drowning, chocking, or an electric shock. Each participant upon successful completion will receive an American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver Adult CPR/AED card valid for two years.
