What is Mental First Aid? Mental First Aid is an 8-hour course designed to improve people's mental health literacy and gives first responders, volunteers and people working with the general public skills to help someone who has or is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental crisis. This course provides valuable tools to respond to psychiatric emergencies and help you identify the signs and symptoms to better understand, and help someone with mental illness. Graduates become certified for 3-years through the National Council for Behavioral Health. This course is being offered in two 4-hour sessions on 2/26 and 3/5, to earn your certification you MUST attend both days.

This Course is FREE and open to the general public. Young adults under 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent. Except for water and lidded coffee cups, beverages and food/snacks are not allowed in the Council Chambers. Seating is limited to the first 150.
