Based-on John Cheever's surreal and allegorical short story, this is The Twilight Zone by way of The New Yorker. Burt Lancaster stars as Ned Merrill, an aging lothario who confronts his destiny by swimming home, pool by pool, through the suburban nightmare of upper-class East Coast society.
