The Chula Vista Olympic Training Center will host the International Hockey Federation (FIH)Men’s World League Round 2 from February 28 to March 8. This tournament is an important step in the road to qualifying for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

The tournament consists of two pools. Ireland, Austria, Chile and Italy make up Pool A while the U.S. Men’s National Team will face Canada, Russia and Trinidad and Tobago in Pool B. Pool play will be followed by a tournament bracket where the champion will eventually be crowned. The top three finishers in this tournament will move on to World League Round 3 where they will play in either Argentina or Belgium.

The competition will be tough but Team USA is up for the challenge.  The tournament will be the first held on the newly resurfaced field hockey pitch.
