Instructor 2 in collaboration with Southwestern College
This course provides the skills and knowledge needed for the intermediate level professional instructor to perform his or her duties safely, effectively and competently. The curriculum is based on the 2012 edition of NFPA 1041 Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications and the 2012 edition of NFPA 1403 Standards on Live Fire Training Evolutions. At the end of this course, candidates for Instructor 2 certification will be able to develop lesson plans and evaluations instruments, teach and deliver instruction, and evaluate and coach other instructors. The Instructor 2 will also be able to analyze resources and formulate a program budget.
Designed for personnel preparing for a college level Fire Instructor, Company Officer, or a SFT Certified Training Instructor position.
Required course material: IFSTA Fire and Emergency Services Instructor, 9th Edition. Must be purchased by student and brought to class. There is also an e-Book version for purchase.

Tuition is non-refundable if a cancellation by Student is received within 30 days prior to the class start date. Failure to appear for registered training (“No Show”) or cancellation within 10 days prior to the event, may impair ability to register for future training.
