Are You Prepared When an Active Shooter Attack Occurs
The City of Chula Vista is hosting an Active Shooter and Stop-the-Bleed preparedness presentation by the Chula Vista Police Department and the Chula Vista Fire Department on Monday, December 4, 2023. The event will be held at the Chula Vista Council Chambers, 276 Fourth Avenue, at 6 PM. The event is free and open to the public; recommended for age 12 and above.
Prepare Yourself for an Active Shooter Situation: An Active Shooter is an individual attempting to kill civilians. Active shooter situations are unpredictable and evolve quickly. The immediate deployment of law enforcement is required to stop the armed attacker. Because active shooter situations are often over within 10 to 15 minutes, and before law enforcement arrives, individuals must be prepared to deal with the situation.
You Are the Help Until Help Arrives: Learn the simple steps that may help save a life after an active shooter situation, in many cases victims need someone to help stop the bleed and that person might be you. Learn hands-on how to control or stop the bleeding until help arrives.
