Deputy City Attorney III

Nicole Carnahan has been practicing law since 2009.  She is a career prosecutor and has dedicated her legal career to public service and criminal justice.  Before joining the City Attorney’s office in March 2019, Nicole was a Chief Deputy at the San Diego City Attorney’s Office.  She has taken over 30 jury trials to verdict, has reviewed and evaluated thousands of cases, and has handled complex criminal matters including vehicular manslaughter cases, First Amendment issues, domestic violence, narcotics, and sex crimes.

As the City’s criminal prosecutor, Ms. Carnahan is using her skills and expertise to address quality of life issues that are facing the Chula Vista community.  She works closely with Chula Vista Police and other City departments to address and prioritize issues as they arise and to respond in an effective, just manner.
