Assistant City Attorney
Megan McClurg joined the Chula Vista City Attorney’s office as a Deputy City Attorney in October 2015. She has been practicing law since 2003, and is a member of both the California and Arizona bars. Ms. McClurg has substantive experience in civil litigation and advisory matters, and previously served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Tohono O’odham Nation and as a Staff Attorney for Legal Aid in southern Arizona.
Ms. McClurg practiced in the civil litigation section of the City Attorney’s office for six years before transitioning to the office’s advisory section. She currently provides advice and assistance to various City departments and divisions including the City Clerk, City Manager, Code Enforcement, Development Services, Economic Development, Library, Parks and Recreation, and Public Works. She also provides advice and assistance to several of the City’s Boards and Commissions. Her goal is to assist in creating and maintaining a safe, vibrant city for the residents of Chula Vista as envisioned in the City’s Municipal Code and Charter. Her experience living in several locations in the United States and abroad has given her an appreciation for the ways cities not only reflect the goals and values of their communities, but also impact the daily lives of their residents.
