Chula Vista Champions Celebration

Held in conjunction with Elite Athlete Services at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center, this ceremony honors Chula Vista champions in athletics, academics, arts, community service and other areas. You can nominate an individual, team, class or other group that lives, works or plays in Chula Vista. Champions will be recognized for receiving an award within the last five years in academics, sports, community service, cultural arts, and more. Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged. Easter Egg Hunt
This very popular event requires that each child have a ticket to participate and bring their own Easter basket. Children must be ages 10 and younger. Following the hunts, there will be activities and photos with the Easter Bunny and firefighters.
South Bay Earth Day

Learn to compost, relax and renew with free yoga classes, meander through art exhibits and booths - even tie dye a shirt! There are free bike safety checks for those who bike to the event, discounted light bulbs for sale, free oil change kits, a cutify t-shirt section, fix-it clinic, organic food trucks and more. You won't want to miss this fun way to become more sustainable!
Community Fun Run
Run, walk or stroll at this fun event held at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center (CVTC). After the race, there will be a community expo, silent auction, an opportunity drawing, and a pancake breakfast. This event helps support free after school health and wellness programs for youth in Chula Vista.
Evening with Heroes

The Annual Evening with Heroes Cocktail Reception and Luau Dinner benefits the Chula Vista Police Foundation. This non-profit foundation provides funding to the Chula Vista Police Department for specialized equipment, training, and programs including K9, SWAT, School Resource Officer Program, Senior Volunteer Patrol, Police Explorer Program, Citizens/Teen Academy, Shoe/Sock Drive and Holiday Meal Give-Away. More information, including online auction information will be available in May.
Movie Nights in the Park

The free film series rotates movies at various city parks and the lineup will be updated in June. The free family friendly flicks begin at dusk with recreation activities beginning at 5:30 p.m.
4th Fest
The City hosts a spectacular fireworks display at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center each Fourth of July.
Pancake Breakfast
July
Spend the morning of the Fourth of July holiday with the Chula Vista Firefighter's Foundation (CVFF) who will hold their annual Pancake Breakfast! There is a suggested donation of $5 and all proceeds go to the CVFF to support fire safety, community programs and encourage fire suppression careers.
Music in the Park

Get ready to get your groove on at Music in the Park Sundays. The free concert series rotates to various city parks and the lineup will be updated in June. Past performers have wowed the crowd with Latin American Rhythms, funk, soul, rock, reggae, blues, pop and more. All concerts are free with recreation activities from 4 to 5 p.m. and the music from 5 to 7 p.m.
Back 2 School Fun Run
2020 date to be announced
The annual Back2School 1 Mile Fun Run will run/walk through and around the beautiful Montevalle Park. Every participant will receive a t-shirt and bib. This is an un-timed event, so gather the family and have some fun in the great outdoors! Strollers and dogs welcome!
National Night Out
The annual event is held at the Police Department headquarters at 315 Fourth Avenue. Free activities for the entire family include a Mobile Field Force demonstration, meet a police K-9, S.W.A.T. team members, guided tours of the facility, a Jaws of Life demonstration and much more! See you and your friends and neighbors at the Chula Vista Police Department!
HarborFest
Attendees will enjoy boat tours, free kayaking and paddleboard lessons, educational exhibits featuring local wildlife, craft activities, music and performances along Chula Vista’s extraordinary waterfront. A Taco, Spirits and Craft Beer Festival will focus on regional and Baja California fare. Three stages showcase community performances, culinary contests, music and entertainment. More than 200 booths will feature local and regional non-profits, art, adventure, food, crafts, and more. The Green Zone and Electric Vehicle Ride & Drive will focus on how attendees can practice environmental stewardship and sustainability. Each year new attractions are added to this exciting festival.
Beautify Chula Vista
Register for the annual Beautify Chula Vista day to help pick up litter, clean up graffiti and remove weeds from two city locations. Volunteers must provide their own transportation, wear appropriate clothing including work gloves, and bring snacks or lunch. Community service hours forms will be provided upon request.
Halloween Glow Run
Join us for the annual Halloween Glow Run 5K as we run/walk along the Rohr Park jogging path. Each paid participant will receive a swag bag with a t-shirt, a finisher medal, and glow swag to light their way. Registration is limited to the first 400 participants - register early!
Bon Appétit
Join the Chula Vista Public Library Foundation as they host the annual Bon Appétit food and wine event. Enjoy a selection of wines and craft beer while you nibble on tasty treats by local restaurants and other food vendors. Check out the vast array of silent and live auction items and dance the night away. Tickets for the grand prize drawing of a $1,000 gift card are available for $5 each in advance or at the event; winner need not be present. Purchase your tickets to this festive benefit at any City library for $45 each or at the door. Must be 21 or older; no children are allowed. All proceeds benefit the Chula Vista Public Library Foundation.
Starlight Parade & Children's Faire
Enjoy the afternoon at the Children's Faire where families can enjoy fun, crafts, food, and a snow hill! Then join more than 30,000 other spectators to line Third Avenue in the Village to watch more than 100 parade entries. From marching bands and dance troops, to flatbed floats and Santa on a fire truck – the Starlight Parade brings the magic of the holidays to Chula Vista’s historic downtown.
