The Chula Vista City Council approved an updated General Plan on December 13, 2005. The General Plan looks out to the year 2030, and will guide the City’s future growth and development over the next 25 years. It is the first comprehensive update of the City’s General Plan since 1989.

The General Plan identifies how land will be used, how needs for transportation, parks and other public facilities and services will be met, and how natural resources and the community’s heritage will be protected. It provides a bold vision for Chula Vista to ultimately become a world-class city with over 300,000 residents, while respecting the people and places that make us unique.
