Temporary NO PARKING/TOW AWAY Signage Requirements for CVPD to Tow Away

No Parking – Tow Away signs must:
|
|
|
• Be placed per approved temporary traffic control plan and permit.
• As near to the curb as possible while still allowing 36” of sidewalk clear path for ADA access.
• In place and posted on ACTChulaVista app at least 72 hours prior to any towing. One post per affected block.

ACTChulaVista Posting Instructions (Mobile Phone):

• Download ACTChulaVista app on mobile phone
• Create an account
• Click the “+” or “Report” icon
• Select “Camera” (or “Photo Library” for previously taken photos)
• Take (or select) a close-up photo of one sign (all signage should match)
• Click “Use Photo”
• Enter the location – It may auto populate if you are on-site and GPS is enabled on your phone.
• Click “Next”
• Select “Construction/Event No Parking Postings”
• Complete the form:
o Under “Description” please enter the dates for no parking
o Select the reason for the “no parking”
o Enter the approved permit number
o Enter the total length of the “no parking” zone
• Click “Submit”
• The completed issue will now open – click on “add photo” under the comment box.
• Use your camera or library to submit additional photos (at least one – as many as necessary to show the scope of the signage and location).
• As you add photos, they will populate in the comment box. When done, type “additional photos” in the comment box and then click the send icon in the bottom right of the comment box to submit. The more detailed your photos and posting, the less likely you are to encounter approval and/or enforcement delays.

ACTChulaVista Posting Instructions (Desktop):

• Ensure you have close-up and wide-angle photos of the signs and area loaded to your desktop
• Navigate to actchulavista.com on your browser
• Click on any of the photographs at the bottom of the page
• Click the “+New Request” icon
• Enter the location
• Click “Confirm Location”
• Select “Construction/Event No Parking Postings”
• Click “Add an image”
• Select a close-up photo of one sign (all signage should match)
• After the photo loads, click “Next step”
• Complete the form:
o Under “Description” please enter the dates for no parking
o Select the reason for the no-parking
o Enter the approved permit number
o Enter the total length of the no-parking zone
• Click “Confirm Details”
• Click “Submit”
• The completed issue will now open – Scroll down to the comment box.
• Click “Photo” next to “attach:”
• Select a photo, then click Comment. Repeat as necessary. You must submit at least one additional photo - as many as necessary to show the scope of the signage and location.
o The more detailed your photos and posting, the less likely you are to encounter approval and/or enforcement delays. |
After Posting Instructions:

- In most cases, you should receive a response in the app or via the email the account is registered to within 1 business day. Please respond quickly to any requested corrections or requests for additional information to avoid additional delays.
- If no corrections or additional information is needed and your post is at least 72 hours prior to the start of the no-parking time period, the response will be “approved"
- If you need vehicles towed after the “no parking” period begins, call (619)691-5151 to request a tow. Faster responses typically occur from 6am-3pm Monday - Friday.
- If no corrections or additional information is needed and your post is at least 72 hours prior to the end of the “no parking” time period (but not before the start), the response will be “approved for towing after (date and time)”
- If you need vehicles towed after the approved date and time, call (619)691-5151 to request a tow.
- Faster responses typically occur from 6am-3pm Monday-Friday.
- If your post is less than 72 hours prior to the end of the no-parking period requested, the response will be “not approved” and the request will be closed. We will not tow any vehicles for an unapproved request.
