SAFETY PATROL

The School Safety Patrol (SSP) program is governed by Chula Vista Elementary School District and is operated by the individual schools with the assistance and guidance of Chula Vista Police Department. The primary responsibility of the SSP is to assist pupils in safely crossing the streets while going to and from school.
The Chula Vista Elementary School District and the Chula Vista Police Department have formed a partnership to develop a school Safety Patrol program where the primary purpose is teaching and mentoring students to develop a strong foundation of virtues. These virtues are the building blocks for the leaders of the future.
DEDICATION: Learning to make a commitment to oneself to perform tasks that will be beneficial to oneself, the school, the organization, and the community.
HONESTY: Being truthful in all actions and interactions with peers, school staff, parents, and members of the community.
TRUST: Displaying a consistent professional level of performance of duties to gain the trust of others.
PROFESSIONALISM: To display a high level of excellence in knowledge and expertise of duties; and to treat others with courtesy and respect.
SHOE AND SOCK DRIVE

Shoe and Sock Drive is an annual event made in partnership with Solo Shoes. Students are provided new shoes, socks, and a backpack filled with school supplies at the start of the school year. This event has benefited over 400 children who attend a variety of elementary schools.
SHOP WITH A COP
|
Shop with a Cop is a wonderful holiday event involving San Diego County law enforcement in partnership with Target and Sea World to provide a chance for elementary aged children to experience the joy of the holidays. Officers meet students at Sea World to watch a spectacular show. After the show, they get to take a ride with the officer to Target to go on a shopping spree for holiday gifts. Each child is provided a gift card and can shop to their hearts desire!
