The City of Chula Vista adopted a Responsible Alcoholic Beverage Service Ordinance in June 2014. The ordinance requires Chula Vista on-sale alcohol retail licensees and their employees to complete a certified training course in alcohol service every four years. The course teaches ABC and DUI laws, liability, recognizing signs of intoxication, refusing sales, guest safety, checking identification, and recognizing false identification. The due date for completing training is six months after hiring a new employee or opening a new business, whichever date is earliest.
