Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Chula Vista

As required by state legislation, the Chula Vista Redevelopment Agency was dissolved as of Feb. 1, 2012. While the Agency no longer exists, the Successor Agencies, City of Chula Vista and Housing Authority of the City of Chula Vista, have assumed responsibility for administering enforceable obligations of the RDA (including administration of housing loans and other obligations), completing existing projects and ultimately to wind down RDA operations over time.

Effective February 1, 2012, all redevelopment agencies in the State of California were dissolved pursuant to AB 1X 26. Although the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Chula Vista (Agency) has been dissolved, this website contains information about the Successor Agency to provide information related to the dissolution and winding down of the Agency.

The City Council acts as the Successor Agency. To find agenda packets, visit the City Council agenda/calendar page.  Type “Successor Agency” in the "Search" field, and choose a timeframe from the pull-down menu.

Please contact Economic Development for any questions regarding dissolution of the Redevelopment Agency and other related matters.

Oversight Board / Members

AB 26 required an Oversight Board be formed to supervise the activities of the Successor Agency in winding down redevelopment. The Oversight Board has a fiduciary responsibility to holders of Enforceable Obligations and the taxing entities that benefit from distributions of property tax and other revenues.
