Unauthorized Use Prohibited
The City of Chula Vista logo is a Registered Service Mark (®) with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and is the exclusive property of the City of Chula Vista. Registration was obtained to protect the City’s brand and its integrity.
Adopted by the Chula Vista City Council on August 6, 1985 (Resolution No. 12118), the stylized symbol represents the sun rising behind Mount Miguel and the foothills in the eastern part of the city, while ocean waves in the foreground capture the essence of Chula Vista's scenic bayfront in the west. Beneath the mark are the words "CITY OF" and "CHULA VISTA." Although the words “City of Chula Vista” appear in the logo, the City does not claim exclusive right to use “City of Chula Vista” apart from the logo as shown.
Unauthorized use of the City of Chula Vista logo is an infringement and is punishable under 18 U.S.C. § 2319. The City of Chula Vista logo may only be included in/on all official City of Chula Vista correspondence, marketing, and property. Unauthorized use of the logo (all or in part) may cause confusion, mistake, or deception about the user’s affiliation or connection with the City of Chula Vista and is strictly prohibited.
