Celebrate Chula Vista with Fun Festivals and Community Engagement!

Looking for something to do?

Chula Vista has events happening throughout the seasons! The HarborFest and the Lemon Festival are both celebrated in the summer with food, crafts, music, and all things Chula Vista are showcased. Fall is filled with activities at our libraries and recreation centers for pumpkin carving, scary stories and family fun! We also have a Veteran's Day Parade to honor our nations heroes, past and present. As the holiday lights go up and the festive season begins, get in the seasonal mood by attending one of our holiday parades in the City, including the historic Starlight Parade along Third Ave. When the days lengthen and spring returns, Chula Vistans can put a spring in their step at the multitude of fun runs that lap our City. No matter the time of year, there are plenty of fun community events to choose from! For the latest list of happenings around town, check out the City’s Calendar.

Do you enjoy working to improve the local community? Chula Vista is home to many service clubs and organizations. The Elks, Rotary Club, Altrusa International, Kiwanis, Optimist Club, Esperanza International, and the Masons are just a few of the clubs who regularly give back to Chula Vista. In addition, there are a number of foundations and non-prots that lend their support to the City services enjoyed by our residents, such as libraries, recreation centers, parks, animal welfare, police and fire, and coastal protection.

Civic involvement for the benefit of the business community is represented by the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce, the Third Avenue Village Association, and the Eastlake Business Association, to name a few. If you welcome the opportunity to have public participation in community issues, a number of civic organizations exist for that purpose. The City is also home to clubs that honor our military, with local branches of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and the Fleet Reserve Association active in the city.

Social service agencies also work hard to improve the lives of all our residents. The Chula Vista Community Collaborative is renowned for its support of youth and families. Meals on Wheels, provides much needed sustenance to local seniors, and the Boys and Girls Club supports local youth by providing a safe environment for them to socialize, learn and grow. These are just a few of the organizations in Chula Vista working to support and improve the lives of our residents and who welcome volunteers like you.
