• The Ralph M. Brown Act, a California law that ensures the public's right to attend and participate in meetings of local legislative bodies. The core principals of the Brown Act state that local agencies can only deliberate and take action at public meetings. The public must be notified in advance of all meetings and matters to be considered, and must be given access to information and opportunity to provide input to the decision-makers.

• Chula Vista Municipal Code and Charter of the City of Chula Vista

• AB 1234 Ethics Training, Pursuant to the State of California local agency officials and designated employees to complete two hours of ethics training biennially see California Government Code sections 53234 through 53235.2, commonly referred to as “AB 1234”.
  
  The course is available free of charge through the Fair Political Practices Commission website at: http://localethics.fppc.ca.gov. 

• Statement of Economic Interests, Form 700, the City of Chula Vista Conflict of Interest Code (CVMC § 2.02) and the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC)  requires designated state and local government officials and employees to publicly disclose their personal assets and income using a Form 700.  For more information on the City’s Conflict of Interest code, designates positions and definitions, please click here..
  The City of Chula Vista requires all Form 700 filings be made electronically  at https://netfile.com/filer.

Pursuant to the Maddy Act,  Government Code Section 54972;  the Local Appointment List of the City's Board,  Commission, and Committee members is posted every year on or before December 31. The names on this list are subject to change based on resignations or terminations that occur during the year. Please refer to the corresponding commission page for current membership.
