Open Space District 3

Click to EnlargeThe district was formed in 1973 to pay for costs of maintaining natural open space, green belt and slopes along major and collector roads, including the maintenance of all trees, shrubs, plants, etc., planted or placed within the open space area.

The district includes all of the area bounded by the subdivision boundary for Rancho Robinhood 1 and 2 Subdivision, and currently consists of about 127 parcels. The areas maintained by the district include, all of open space lot 115, slopes along Otay Lakes Road, Allen School Lane and certain other slopes. The district is comprised of 3.5 acres of irrigated slopes and 0.5 acres of ornamental plants.

The maintenance consists in general of the following:

  • Irrigation
  • Fertilization
  • Removal of weeds, trash and litter
  • Replacement of dead or diseased trees and shrubs
  • Repair of equipment and facilities
  • Weed abatement
  • Trail Maintenance
