Permitting of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS)
This list is provided to guide applicants through a streamlined permitting process for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS).

Building Permit Application
At time of plan submittal, you will need the job address (a unique address for the EVCS installation that is used for billing), legal description, existing use, description of work, and name and address of the applicant and the owner.
- For single family residential, duplex and townhomes:
You must include a completed and signed "Utility Permit Application", Form 4569. Under the “Electrical” section of the application, check “Miscellaneous wiring/conduit.”
- For non-residential and multi-family:
You must include a completed and signed "Tenant Improvement Application", , Form 4564. Under the “Work Not Listed Above” section of the application, write in “Electrical Vehicle Charging Station”.

Plans and Supporting Documents (For non-residential and multi-family residential)
- Provide three (3) sets of plans and two (2) sets of supporting documents for the proposed EVCS.
- One copy of the EVCS Permit Submittal Checklist must be completed and submitted to Development Services along with the building permit application. Please provide an explanation for any checklist item not completed or met.
- Plans and required calculations/documents must incorporate all the applicable items listed on the EVCS Permit Submittal Checklist.
